The owner of this website has been in the naming industry since the early 90's and has studied just about every known aspect of the name creation process for companies, businesses, and products, and even domain names.
Due to the overwhelming amounts of companies and businesses needing names for various products and services, it was too many for the owner to keep up with, so he had a clever idea about a way to enlist more imaginative people who could assist with coming up with creative names for these companies and businesses which effectively increases the manpower and creativity required to assist these businesses.
He decided that anyone with a creative imagination for this kind of industry could sign up on his website and become part of the process. The incentive simply is that if the imaginative namer comes up with the name that the Client ultimately chooses, the Namer gets part of the money, $50.00. On the other hand, the Client only pays $80.00 towards the creation of their name where as normally this kind of service would charge typically upwards of $5,000 - $10,000. Yes that's right ten thousand dollars, and this is before the actual trademark search and registration which will cost typically another thousand dollars.
NOTE: OUR SITE DOES NOT CURRENTLY PERFORM OFFICIAL TRADEMARK SEARCHES OR REGISTRATION AS OF YET, BUT WE DEFINITELY CAN POINT YOU TO WHERE TO GO FOR THESE SERVICES. The reason we don't provide actual trademark searches or registration is because we don't have a legal staff in house for these services, however we do provide some search tools and direction towards other search tools and other places that do perform legal trademark searches and registration. We can usually come to about 90% chance of the name in question of being available for use. This is important, because the Client needs a name that is most likely not going to infringe on another business or product name and there needs to be a high chance the name is actually available for use before the Client submits the name for official Trademark search and registration. When a Client submits a name for trademark search and registration, they do not get their money back if the name comes back as not available for use. Please read our how tos in our learning section to understand how all of this works.
One of the pros that came out of this idea, was he saw ways to be able to use the Internet for ways to be able to leverage the power of the Internet for coming up with ratings for the names that were being created. That way the Client will be able to tell which name is the one that is especially standing out of the crowd and the Client would be able to make a more informed decision about which name they should go with and why.
So the idea that came out of all this was to create a common ground for people, companies, and services that are looking for Name Ideas and people who have imaginations to come up with Name Ideas. This is extremely beneficial especially for those who need Name Ideas, because by our site creating this common ground, it brings in a lot more heads and a vast amount of new refreshing ideas, and it unlimits us from having a limited amount of imagination, hence the creation of EngiName.
The name EngiName was thought up from a combination of things. We started with the thought of blending Name Engineering together, but NameEngi didn't quite cut it, so we reversed the words and there was EngiName. We weren't sure about the name yet and we decided to put up a challenge on our website and call our website Namajig (a name that is unkown still) and let our Namers come up with a better name. We were getting lots of good name ideas and then asked one of the Namers to put up EngiName as a name idea. After EngiName went up as a name idea, EngiName almost instantly made it to a 10 rate, so we decided that we will go with EngiName after all, and then we changed everything over from Namajig to EngiName and the rest is history. We design names for people, businesses, services, products, ebooks, and even pets. We went through about 600 different name ideas and decided to stick with a great name that also had a matching .com name. Don't get us wrong, we did think of a couple of even better names, but the .com name was either being sat on by domain squaters, or was just simply not available. Ultimately, the name is only half the game, the other half is the business or product itself, they go hand in hand. A bad business or product can make a name bad, and a bad name can make a business bad. This goes for the good as well, so we have taken ample measures to bring you the best and we hope you enjoy our website.
